Toughened / Laminated Safety Glass - the advantage of these types of glass is that no dangerous shards of glass are produced if they are broken.  Laminated glass incorporates a plastic membrane between two layers of glass which helps to keep the glass intact if broken.  Toughened glass is specially treated to make it up to 4 times stronger than ordinary glass, and if it does break it produces small fragments of glass which are not sharp.  These types of glass are ideal for use in:
